Hindustan Zinc Association and International Zinc Association support sustainable building

Discuss the need for advanced technologies such as light steel construction methods (LGS) that will ensure speed, quality, corrosion resistance and sustainability.
To discuss the building industry’s pressing issues and consider alternative sustainable technologies such as lightweight steel framing (LGSF), Hindustan Zinc Limited has joined forces with the International Zinc Association (IZA), the leading industry association dedicated exclusively to zinc. Hosted a recent webinar on the future of construction with a focus on Galvanized Light Steel Framing (LGSF).
As traditional building methods struggle to keep up with international standards for better, more efficient and affordable buildings and address sustainability issues, many leading players in the construction industry are turning to alternative methods to address these issues. cold formed steel structure (CFS), also known as light steel (or LGS).
The webinar is moderated by Dr. Shailesh K. Agrawal, Executive Director, Building Materials and Technology. Facilitation Committee, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India and Arun Mishra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Harsha Shetty, Director of Marketing, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Kenneth D’Souza, Technical Officer, IZA Canada, and Dr. Rahul Sharma , Director, IZA India. Other prominent speakers who attended the webinar included Mr. Ashok Bharadwaj, Director and CEO of Stallion LGSF Machine, Mr. Shahid Badshah, Commercial Director of Mitsumi Housing, and Mr. Balaji Purushotam, FRAMECAD Limited BDM. More than 500 leading companies and industry associations attended the conference, including CPWD, NHAI, NHSRCL, Tata Steel and JSW Steel.
Discussions focused on the use of steel in new building materials technologies, the global use and application of LGFS and its application in commercial and residential construction in India, the design and manufacture of galvanized steel for commercial and residential construction.
Dr. Shailesh K. Agrawal, Executive Director of Building Materials and Technology, addressed the webinar participants. “India is one of the largest growth economies and the construction industry is emerging as the third largest industry in the world; it could be worth $750 billion by 2022,” said the Assistance Council of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Government of India. The Government of India and the Department of Housing and Department of Urban Affairs are committed to stimulating the economy and are working with leading associations and businesses to bring the right technology to the housing sector. The Department aims to build 11.2 million homes by 2022 and reach the number we need Technology that delivers speed, quality, safety, and reduces waste.”
He further added, “LSGF is a leading technology that can speed up the construction process by 200%, helping the Ministry and its affiliated agencies build more homes with less cost and environmental impact. Now is the time to implement these technologies in I would like to thank Hindustan Zinc Limited and the International Zinc Association for taking the lead in spreading the word about sustainable technologies that are not only cost effective but also corrosion free.”
Known in developed countries such as Europe and New Zealand, this form of building requires minimal use of heavy equipment, less water and sand, is corrosion resistant and recyclable compared to traditional structures, making it a complete solution for green building technology. .
Arun Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Zinc Limited, said: “As there is a massive expansion of infrastructure in India, the use of galvanized steel in construction will increase. The framing system provides greater durability and superior corrosion resistance, making the structure safer and less maintenance. Good news in that it is 100% recyclable, so it does not harm the environment. When we rapidly urbanize Proper construction methods, as well as galvanized structures, must be used in preparation for the boom in infrastructure and infrastructure, not only to ensure long life, but and to ensure the safety of the population that uses these structures every day.”
